In 2014, 54 percent of the total population lived in urban centres1 - the highest proportion in history – and this trend is growing, with the figure set to hit 66 percent by 2050. L’évolution des conditions de vie en Haïti entre 2007 et 2012. La réplique sociale du séisme.

Le séisme qui a frappé Haïti le 12 janvier 2010 figure parmi les quatre plus meurtriers jamais enregistrés au monde depuis 1990. Il a touché de plein fouet l’Aire métropolitaine de Port‐au‐ Prince où se concentre plus d’un Haïtien sur cinq et détruit de nombreux bâtiments publics et logements. Malgré l'intervention immédiate de la communauté internationale à travers l’envoi d’équipes de secours sur place, des promesses d'aides financières et de soutien au processus de reconstruction et de développement, la situation tarde à se normaliser.

Goat Production Improvement Project Haiti. Final Report

This overview highlights the achievements, end-of-project status and recommendations resulting from the execution of a goat production improvement project in Haiti between June 1984 and May 1987. The project was implemented jointly by the Haitian Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR) and Winrock Inter­ national Institute for Agricultural Development as an expansion and extension of a previous 3-year effort that established the foundation goat herd and infrastructure necessary for initiating the improvement of the goat production sector.
